A soldier in his 20s who sexually insulted female NCOs while serving in the military has been sentenced to prison.

Judge Min-wook Yoon of the 4th Criminal Division of the Incheon District Court announced that he sentenced Mr. A (21), who was accused of insulting his superior, to 6 months in prison and 1 year probation.

Mr. A was prosecuted for insulting two female noncommissioned officers, including Sergeant B, at a military base in Gyeonggi Province from August to October of last year.

He referred to Sergeant B to another colleague, saying, "You have pretty eyes, but you look ugly without a mask" or "You're too fat."

He also made insulting remarks about another sergeant, saying that certain parts of his body were too small or that he "knew he was pretty."

Judge Yoon said, "The defendant insulted the victims, his superiors, during his military service, and the crime was not good."

However, he revealed the reason for the sentencing, saying, "I am reflecting on my wrongdoing while admitting to the crime," and "I took into account the fact that I am a first-time offender with no criminal record."
