FuboTV, a paid streaming platform mainly dedicated to sport, was the victim of a cyberattack on Wednesday during the World Cup semi-final between France and Morocco.

This computer attack resulted in depriving subscribers of access to their account for several hours, reports BFMTV.

Thus, on the evening of the match, it was impossible for some users to watch the match broadcast on FuboTV.

They were forced to look for other channels broadcasting the semi-final won by France.

"As soon as we detected the attack, we immediately took action to contain the incident and worked to restore service to all of our users as quickly as possible," FuboTV said in a statement posted on Twitter.

An investigation is now open.

The American streaming platform asked Mandiant, a company specializing in computer security, to track the attackers.

FuboTV also wants to ensure that “the incident is fully under control and that there is no threat of further disruption to our customers”.

Subscribers will need to update the app as soon as a new version becomes available.

No information was given on the scale of the attack, and whether the personal data of platform subscribers was threatened.

FuboTV acquired Molotov, the French platform in 2021. Mainly offering live global and American sporting events, FuboTV has 347,000 subscribers in France and Spain.
