A mother in her 60s who killed her severely disabled daughter who had taken care of her for 38 years cried out in court saying, "I'm a bad mother."

Yesterday (8th), the Incheon District Prosecutor's Office sought 12 years in prison for Mr. A in his 60s, who was charged with murder without detention.

In May, Mr. A was put on trial for causing death by feeding a large amount of sleeping pills to his 30-year-old daughter, who was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer and was a severely disabled person with first-degree encephalopathy.

She herself tried the extreme option and was found by her son and saved her life.

In his final statement, Mr. A said that he did not have the strength to endure at the time, and that he thought, 'If I die, who will take care of my daughter, let's end it here'.

He then burst into tears saying that he was very sorry that he survived alone and that he was a bad mother.

The son of Mr. A, who appeared as a witness, said that her mother cleaned her sister every day, fearing that she would smell her, and, like other mothers, she dressed her up beautifully and raised her. He said he suffered a lot.

Mr. A’s sentencing hearing is scheduled to be held on the 19th of next month next year.
