A man in his 20s was sentenced to eight months in prison for brutally abusing four stray cats and killing one.



Animal protection groups who attended the trial protested strongly, saying that the court's sentence was low.



Today (7th), the 10th detective of the Suwon District Court (Judge Lee Won-beom) sentenced A to eight months in prison and arrested him in court for violating the Animal Protection Act.



From March 13 to 18 this year, Mr. A was handed over to trial for abusing four stray cats and killing one, including breaking the legs of a stray cat in a residential area in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province.



On this day, the judge sentenced him to 8 months in prison, saying, "The accused also shared the method and process of abuse on social media chat rooms."



About 30 people, including members of animal protection groups, who watched the sentence at the scene, expressed their dissatisfaction, saying that the sentence was low, and some shouted and cursed at the judge, causing a commotion at one time.



Members of animal protection groups are known to claim that at least 80 stray cats that Mr. A abused and killed.
