In the results of the SK C&C data center fire and Kakao/Naver service failures announced by the government, the 'cause of the fire' was omitted.

It was a problem that many people have been wondering about for a long time, but because the specific cause has not yet been identified.

Minister of Science and ICT Lee Jong-ho said at a briefing today (6th) at the Seoul Government Complex along with the Korea Communications Commission and the Fire Administration, "It was found that there were no specific signs related to the fire until right before the fire broke out." The equipment worked, but there was a limit to the initial suppression due to the nature of the lithium-ion battery."

However, there was no explanation for the cause of the first fire in the lithium-ion battery in question, and it was immediately passed on to the reason why the fire could not be extinguished early and spread.

In response to a question about the cause of the fire, Minister Lee replied, "The cause of the fire is being closely investigated by the Fire Administration and related organizations, and we will inform you as soon as the results come out." .

An official from the National Fire Agency told reporters immediately after the announcement, "The National Institute of Scientific Investigation is currently collecting and analyzing the battery as evidence."

Another issue is whether the battery monitoring system that detects battery temperature rises is working properly, but the government has yet to come to a clear conclusion.

Previously, on October 15th, at 3:19 pm, a fire broke out in the battery room on the 3rd basement floor of SK C&C Pangyo Data Center located in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province.

It is said that the CCTV installed at the site contained a scene where a fire broke out after a spark occurred in the battery in the electrical room.

At that time, the power to the building was cut off due to a fire, causing service failures for tenant companies such as Kakao and Naver.
