Police caught a middle school student who secretly drove a car belonging to his grandfather and drove about 50 km from Okcheon, North Chungcheong Province to Daejeon.

Today (6th), the Dongbu Police Station in Daejeon announced that they were investigating A (14) for driving without a license.

On the 27th of last month, at around 9:50 pm, the police received a report from an acquaintance of Army A saying, "Group A posted a message on social network service (SNS) that he was driving a car to pick up a friend in Daejeon."

After changing into plain clothes, the policeman who was patrolling stopped the police car on the street near Usongdae, Jayang-dong, Dong-gu, Daejeon, where A was supposed to meet with a friend, and went out to the side of the main road to wait.

As soon as the car driven by A passed, they immediately chased after in a police car.

Afterwards, he parked his car in an alley in a one-room village in Gayang-dong and arrested A, who was walking, and handed it over to his guardian after an investigation.

Group A denied the crime by giving the personal information of others, but admitted to the crime when the police continued to question him.

He stated, "I did it out of curiosity to go see a friend."

A police official said, "A's 14th birthday has passed and he does not qualify as a juvenile."

He added, "We plan to have him attend with his guardian this week for investigation, and then send him to the prosecutor's office next week."
