Suh Hoon, former head of the National Security Office, who was in charge of security in the Moon Jae-in government, was arrested early today (3rd) in connection with the shooting of a public official in the West Sea.

He is accused of voluntarily driving to North Korea, and it seems that the summoning of former National Intelligence Service Director Park Ji-won is also imminent.

Reporter Hong Young-jae reports.

After completing the 10-hour warrant review, the longest in history, former National Security Office chief Suh Hoon was silent.

[Seo Hoon/Former Director of the National Security Office (Last night): (How did you explain today?) I diligently participated in the review.]

After reviewing the documents for the amount of time it took to interrogate the court, the warrant officer was arrested by former Chief Seo at 5:00 am. A warrant was issued.

The reason for the issuance was that "there is a concern about the destruction of evidence in light of the seriousness of the crime, the status of the suspect, and the relationship with the people involved."

In October, Seo held a press conference to refute the allegations with former President Roh Young-min and other officials from the Moon Jae-in government. , and the court is known to have made the same judgment.

Now the focus is on the next investigation.

With the imminent summons of former NIS director Park Ji-won, who is suspected of being involved in the deletion of NIS intelligence, former President Moon Jae-in, who revealed that he received a report and finally approved it, may also be subject to investigation.

However, the prosecution judges that the chief executive officer, who hastily concluded that a public official voluntarily defected to North Korea without sufficient evidence, is Suh.

As former Minister of Defense Seo Wook and former head of the Korea Coast Guard Kim Hong-hee, who were arrested first, were released through a trial of arrest, there is a possibility that former chief Suh Hoon will also request a trial from the court.
