An active-duty army officer has been arrested after approaching young teenagers through a chat app and sexually exploiting them for three years.

According to the police yesterday (1st), the Gangwon Provincial Police Agency's Military Crime Investigation Unit recently arrested a lieutenant in a parent division in the Gangwon region for violating the Act on Sexual Protection of Children and Adolescents and the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crime, etc. Arrested for rape and other charges.

Mr. A is accused of committing sexual exploitation crimes, such as having 100 teenagers take nude photos and videos for three years from 2019 to early this year and receiving them.

It is known that the crime was committed by approaching the victims through a chat app and asking for photos and videos with a higher level of exposure after paying money in return for sending them photos.

It was even revealed that he actually met and sexually assaulted some of the victims.

The Military Crime Investigation Team, which took over the case from the military police after the victim reported it in June of this year, confirmed that there were about 100 victims as a result of the investigation.

Mr. A deleted his personal cloud account when the number of deaths was narrowed down, but the police found more than 1,000 sexual exploits on Mr. A's cell phone and external hard drive.

The police plan to turn the case over to the prosecution soon.
