While a male high school teacher in Jeju is being investigated by the police for forcibly molesting a male student, it has been revealed that dozens of students have been victimized by the teacher.

On the 30th of last month, according to the Jeju Provincial Office of Education, etc., after the first report was received that a teacher at the school, Mr. A, molested a student, a full investigation was conducted on the students to determine whether there was additional damage.

As a result, about 40 people responded that they had suffered from light physical contact to sexual harassment and harassment from Mr. A.

The victims are all male students.

Earlier, Mr. A's crime became known on the 16th when a parent report was received by the police that 'the son was forcibly molested by a teacher'.

Immediately after becoming aware of the issue, the school removed Mr. A from work and separated him from the students, and when the investigation began, his position was also released.

In addition, we plan to prepare and promote measures to prevent recurrence and secondary damage, such as providing counseling and psychological treatment for students complaining of damage together with the Office of Education, and inviting external instructors to prevent sexual violence.

The police are currently investigating Mr. A on charges of violating the Act on the Protection of Sexuality of Children and Youth (indecent assault).
