The police have launched a compulsory investigation against some construction companies that have been supplied with public land in the so-called 'swarm bidding' method.

It is known that the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Financial Crimes Investigation Unit is conducting a search and seizure by sending about 50 investigators to the headquarters of Hoban Construction, Umi Construction, and Daebang Construction from the morning of today (the 1st).

The search and seizure began when the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport requested the police to investigate some construction companies that received public housing land through bee swarm bidding.

Bee swarm bidding is an act of expedient bidding by a construction company by mobilizing affiliates or partners to increase the possibility of winning a bid for a public housing site.

The police are investigating whether the construction companies involved subsidized subsidiaries in the process of bidding for swarms of loans in the name of construction companies, which are prohibited by the Framework Act on the Construction Industry.

It is said that the police have already booked about 10 people, including the CEO of affiliates, as suspects.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport also conducted an on-site inspection of the company that won the LH public housing site in September, and as a result, found that the parent company had established an affiliate for the purpose of securing housing land, such as paying salaries for its employees instead, and requested administrative disposition.
