The court's final judgment on Jeong Jin-woong, a researcher at the Justice Research and Training Institute, who was accused of assaulting Justice Minister Han Dong-hoon in the process of seizure and search, will come out today (30th).



The 1st Division of the Supreme Court is expected to pass on the verdict of the appeals court of Commissioner Jeong, who was accused of self-directed assault under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes, but was acquitted in the 2nd trial.



In 2020, when he was the chief prosecutor of the 1st Criminal Division of the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office, Commissioner Jeong was charged with assaulting a minister while trying to confiscate a mobile phone SIM chip that was the chief prosecutor at the Judicial Research and Training Institute in 2020.



The first trial sentenced Chung to 4 months in prison, 1 year probation, and 1 year suspension of qualifications after admitting that Commissioner Jeong had assaulted a minister.



However, the second trial accepted Commissioner Jeong's claim that he had no intention of assaulting him and acquitted him.
