The labor union of the Seoul Transportation Corporation, which operates Seoul subway lines 1 to 8, will go on strike tomorrow (30th).

The union of the Seoul Transportation Corporation declared the final breakdown of negotiations after negotiating with the management for nearly eight hours from 2:00 p.m.

The strike by the union of the Seoul Transportation Corporation is the first in six years since 2016.

However, according to the mandatory maintenance work system, the union must maintain 30% of the total workforce even during the strike.

Even during the strike, the subway will be operated normally during rush hours, and reduced to 70% of normal during daytime hours.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government is operating the Emergency Transportation Response Headquarters and preparing for a prolonged strike.
