A man in his 50s who assaulted a paramedic who rescued him from falling on the road was sentenced to prison.

Today (28th), the 11th Criminal Division of the Ulsan District Court (Chief Judge Park Hyun-bae) announced that it sentenced Mr. A to two years in prison for being handed over to trial for violating the 119 Rescue and First Aid Act.

Mr. A was handed over to trial for striking the face of a paramedic who rescued him from falling on a road in Ulsan early in the morning in June and transported him to the hospital.

When Mr. A was in a situation where he had to move from the hospital he first arrived to, it was investigated that he assaulted the paramedics by swearing.

In addition, Mr. A was also tried in May for kicking the doctor in charge and throwing a glass at a restaurant drunk for no reason in May, when he was hospitalized.

Also, last March, while pessimistic about his safety, he set his clothes on fire in a drunken state and threw them on the floor of the gositel where he lived, almost setting himself on fire.

In response, the judge explained the reason for the sentence, saying, "The accused assaulted a police officer who was dispatched after receiving a report."
