Lead] The Special Investigation Headquarters of the police, which is investigating the Itaewon disaster, raided the National Fire Agency.

It seems that the investigation is expanding to the fire department command department.

Let's connect the reporter on the spot.

Reporter Ha Jeong-yeon, first of all, please tell us in detail where the search and seizure took place today (the 25th).

Six locations, including the 119 General Situation Room and Response General Department of the National Fire Agency in the Sejong Government Complex, were targeted for seizure and search by the Special Investigation Headquarters.

In the special edition, 22 investigators were put in to secure documents and electronic information related to the Itaewon disaster.

The search and seizure of the National Fire Administration was conducted because the special edition caught the suspicion that public documents related to the response to the Itaewon disaster were falsely prepared.

It was covered as related to the operation of the Central Emergency Rescue Control Group, which is temporarily organized by the Fire and Disaster Management Agency when a disaster situation occurs.

The Central Emergency Rescue Control Group plays the role of overseeing emergency medical resources dispatched to disaster sites.

The special version believes that the document was manipulated as if the control group was not activated at the time of the disaster, but the meeting was held and operated.

Cell phones and business records of officials were also secured through search and seizure, and one employee was charged with creating and holding false official documents.

What does the National Fire Agency say about this kind of police investigation?

<Reporter>

We made a phone call with the fire department officials, but the atmosphere is strongly opposed.

First, the National Fire Agency claimed that the Central Emergency Rescue Control Group was operating properly at the time of the disaster.

It is said that the control group was in operation because of the Goesan earthquake that occurred on the morning of the disaster, and that it was taken over and expanded after the Itaewon disaster occurred.

It seems that the special investigation is expanding beyond the Yongsan Fire Station and the Seoul Fire and Disaster Headquarters to the Fire Administration.
