Yesterday at 6:10 pm, a 7-ton vessel and a 9-ton vessel collided in the waters near the old Geoje Bridge in Tongyeong-si, Gyeongsangnam-do.

Part of the ship was damaged by the impact, but the Coast Guard found that there was no obstacle to the navigation of the two ships and moved them to a safe sea area.

There were seven people on both ships, but no one was injured.

The Coast Guard believes that a 7-ton vessel operating in the nearby waters collided with a 9-ton vessel departing from Yeosu and moving toward Changwon while being towed by another vessel due to engine failure.

The Coast Guard is investigating the exact cause of the accident, ascertaining that neither of the captains was under the influence of alcohol.
