Child sex offender Kim Geun-sik, who was arrested again one day before his release, was sent to trial on another charge of forcible child molestation in the past.

The allegations made when he was re-arrested last month turned out to be untrue, but in another 16-year-old case that remained unsolved, he also confirmed the DNA of Kim Geun-sik and received a confession.

Child sex offender Kim Geun-sik, who served 15 years in prison for raping 11 minors, was re-arrested one day before his release.

16 years ago, an additional charge of child molestation was revealed and he was again in court.

In the case of forcibly molesting a child in Gyeonggi Province in September 2006, Kim is accused of threatening a child under the age of 13 with a knife in a mountain near an elementary school.

The culprit has not been found for 16 years, but the past crimes were revealed while the prosecution, which was investigating Kim Geun-sik's female crimes, was investigating unsolved cases at 7 local police stations where Kim committed mainly.

Again, DNA was decisive.

The DNA of the unidentified criminal who remained in the police was interrogated on the basis that it matched that of Kim Geun-sik, and the confession was obtained.

Kim Geun-sik was also charged with assaulting a prison guard and fellow inmates several times at the prison where he was serving his sentence.

Prosecutors have requested an electronic device for Mr. Kim, and we will also request an order for drug treatment for sexually transmitted diseases.

However, the charge of forcibly molesting a child in Incheon in 2006, when an arrest warrant was issued a day before his release, was confirmed as Kim Geun-sik was in custody on the day of the incident, and the charges were dismissed.
