Person A is accused of killing his wife B (44) on the street in Seosan-si, Chungcheongnam-do around 3:10 pm on the 4th of last month by swinging a weapon.

Mr. B, who was stabbed several times by her knife, was taken to the hospital, but eventually died.

As a result of the investigation, Mr. A threatened with a weapon when he was asked for a divorce from Mr. B. After that, Mr. B did not agree on the previous act of domestic violence. was confirmed to have been committed.

B, who died, is known to have reported to the police four times from last September until he was killed for domestic violence and violation of the restraining order.

After the first report was received, the police determined that there was a serious act of violence and said that Mr. A and Mr. B were separated.

Nevertheless, when Mr. A went to her wife and injured her, the police applied for a victim protection order to the court, which was granted.

In general, when a victim protection order is issued, domestic violence perpetrators are prohibited from approaching within 100 meters of the victim and access to communication.

However, Mr. A continued to visit the store run by Mr. B, even though access was prohibited, and threatened with her weapon, and in the end, Mr. A killed Mr. B with a weapon.

This happened while the police sent Mr. A a request for attendance and was investigating Mr. A on allegations of domestic violence.

Violation of the no-access order under the current law can be punished, but access cannot be forcibly blocked in advance.

This is because there is no way to know in real time whether the perpetrator of domestic violence is approaching the victim.

The police say that there was no problem in responding to reports of domestic violence and that they have taken all possible measures, such as separating the perpetrator and the victim.

However, women's groups and related experts point out that the legal system and system for domestic violence crimes is insufficient.

Son Jung-ah, director of the Women's Human Rights Center, said, "Stronger separation measures between victims and perpetrators and stronger punishments for the perpetrators should be made. It is an inevitable structure.”

A prosecution official said, "It was confirmed through the testimony of the bereaved family that Mr. A committed domestic violence to his wife and children for a long time." I have requested the loss of parental rights of Mr.

In the meantime, Mr. B has been fully responsible for his livelihood, so we plan to provide tuition and emergency living expenses so that his children do not face economic difficulties. "He said.
