Recently, among parents of Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, an article about 'there was an attempt to abduct an elementary school student' spread, and the police launched an investigation, but fortunately, it was confirmed that it was groundless.

Yesterday (27th), on the bulletin board of a mom cafe in Suwon, a series of posts were posted to the effect of 'Let's be careful because there has been an attempt to kidnap an elementary school student in Suwon recently.'

The posts read, "My mother is injured and is in the hospital, so she tries to kidnap me by saying that she should go with me."

In addition, on the 24th, a netizen revealed that an emergency notice with a similar content was sent at an elementary school parent's association on the 24th, and netizens with children complained of anxiety on some local bulletin boards.

In particular, low-grade children and parents of dual-income families expressed concerns such as "I'm afraid my child is going to and from school alone", "I'm still in a low grade, so I'm worried", and "It's more dangerous because the days are shorter."

However, it turns out that there were no actual kidnapping attempts.

Today (28th), the Suwon Nambu Police Station posted an official document containing the content that "After receiving a related report, three teams of the Detective Division's violent team analyzed and investigated CCTV images, etc., and confirmed that there were no criminal charges."

In the official document, the police added, "We will do our best to ensure the safety of students by strengthening child safety guards, parent police, and patrol activities on the way to and from school in case of emergency."

Local citizens who heard this news were relieved that it was 'just a rumor', while "why did these rumors come out and the information message came?", "Is there no adult who approached the children, or the crime situation? I'm confused if it's because I didn't catch it."
