There was a story that a voice phishing cash collector who was sending a bundle of cash at an ATM booth was arrested thanks to the cleverness of a citizen.

A man in his 70s living in Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi-do, visited an ATM booth near his house in July to find cash.

At that time, it is said that a young man was using an ATM in the booth first. The moment he thought it was strange because a black bag was lying on the floor and he was depositing 50,000 won bills, the young man came out of the booth and gave up the order saying it would take a long time.

It is said that Mr. A, who entered the booth, saw a pile of receipts next to the ATM. He took a few sheets and checked them, and he kept receiving 1 million won each under the same name, and he said that the recipient was Chinese, not Korean.

Mr. A immediately reported this to the nearby police box, and the young man was caught by the police on the spot.

Police investigations revealed that the young man was a cash collector employed by a voice phishing organization.

The police decided to select citizen A, who helped with the arrest, as a phishing guard and award a report compensation and a certificate of commendation.
