The Paris Criminal Court on Tuesday sentenced a business coach to three years in prison, including two years suspended probation, for sexual assault and fraud.

Founder in 2009 of the Peauzdétente space specializing in professional support, Mathieu J., 45, offered between 2014 and 2017 to his clientele, mostly women, sessions based on hypnosis.

“He wanted to unlock nodes”

According to the prosecution, these sessions then turned to personal development and tantrism, a practice from the Hindu religion combining yoga and sexuality.

"He wanted to unblock the knots", especially in the crotch, said during the trial one of his victims, aged 33, who described digital penetration.

Mathieu J. had denied his version of the facts by evoking a consensual sexual relationship.

In her indictment, the prosecutor, who had asked for five years in prison, two of which were suspended, described the victims as "prey", "people who, by the nature of their actions, are in doubt".

The defendant could thus exert a "moral constraint (...) from teacher to pupil".

Guilty of sexual assault on ten plaintiffs

The court found him guilty of sexual assault on ten plaintiffs and acquitted on five of them.

The ex-coach was also sentenced for scams to the detriment of twenty-six clients and fraudulent maneuvers in particular in view of the methods of recruiting prospects and pseudo certifications.

Partner of Mathieu J., Dounia O., 42, was sentenced to eighteen months in prison suspended, a sentence in accordance with the requisitions for acts of fraud and fraudulent maneuvers.

Their lawyers had pleaded for the release of all proceedings.
