Lee Hwa-young, former Vice-Governor of Peace in Gyeonggi Province, served as an advisor and outside director of SsangBul Group for nearly seven years since October 2011.



After taking office as Vice Governor of Gyeonggi-do in July 2018, the fact that Ssang Bul-Bul's bribery offensive became more secretive and bold was revealed through the prosecution's indictment.



SsangBall paid out a card for the general affairs team leader of its affiliates to hide the provision of corporate cards, and it was revealed that the former vice governor used this card for over three years, from the Gyeonggi vice governor to the KINTEX president, to use this card close to 200 million won.



Prosecutors believe that Ssang Bul-Bul gave money in exchange for the help of former Lieutenant Governor Lee in the promotion of the North Korean project.



In May 2019, SsangBall signed an economic cooperation agreement with the North Korean National Economic Cooperation Federation to guarantee priority business rights in six areas, including underground resource development and railroad construction, and the stock prices of related affiliates soared. Judgment.



In the indictment, it was also revealed that the vice president of Ssang Bul-Bul, Bang Mo, had to remove or hide key evidence, such as ordering the replacement of all computers in the general affairs department when the suspicion of using the corporate card of the former vice president arose.



The indictment of former Lieutenant Governor Lee did not include information regarding Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung.



It is known that the investigation into the allegation of payment of attorney fees related to CEO Lee was slow because all key officials including former chairman Kim Seong-tae were fleeing.



The first trial of former Lieutenant Governor Lee will be held on the 28th.
