An investigation has been opened in the heart of the prefecture of Meurthe-et-Moselle for intentional homicide after the suspicious death of a man.

The latter had been found unconscious in the center of Nancy, and the emergency services tried in vain to revive him.

An investigation into intentional homicide was opened after the death of a man found unconscious on Wednesday evening in the center of Nancy (Meurthe-et-Moselle), the city prosecutor's office announced on Thursday.

The firefighters were called around 10:00 p.m. “to rescue a visibly unconscious man”: the victim was “lying on the ground on his back, between two parked cars, his head slightly on the sidewalk” and “presented a significant scalp wound”, said the public prosecutor, François Pérain.

Rescuers tried to resuscitate him, "without success", he added.

The judicial police have been seized of the investigation, which aims "initially to identify the victim", also indicated François Pérain.
