More than 400 kilograms of cannabis resin were seized on Friday during the interception of a go-fast near Sens in Yonne, an operation which resulted in four arrests, the gendarmerie told AFP on Monday.

Last April, the gendarmes of the Melun research brigade discovered, as part of an investigation into the concealment of a stolen vehicle, drug trafficking with an "international dimension".

Co-seized with the Paris research section, they then identify a "structured team" transporting drugs between Spain and Île-de-France.

Four people arrested

“During the month of September, the gendarmes materialize three round trips made by the criminals,” the gendarmerie said in a press release.

Supported by a hundred gendarmes from the GIGN and other units, an interception of three vehicles was triggered on September 30 on the A19 and A5 motorways.

Three people were arrested on the spot, a fourth at his home.
