Today (the 3rd), the National Foundation Day, large-scale rallies were held in various parts of downtown Seoul, resulting in extreme traffic congestion.



Conservative groups such as the Liberty Unification Party, led by Rev. Jeon Kwang-hoon, held the '10 Million Signatures National Convention for Free Unification' at the Sejong-daero intersection from 1pm today.



The protesters began to gather around Gwanghwamun in the morning, and by 3 pm, the number had increased to 34,000 according to the police estimate.



About 1,000 people gathered at Gwanghwamun Square and Cheonggye Square, where assemblies and demonstrations are not allowed since the reopening in August. will be investigated.



A rally hosted by other organizations such as the 'People's Honor Restoration Movement Headquarters' was held nearby at the same time.



In the aftermath of a large-scale rally, all lanes on Sejong-daero toward Seoul City Hall and one lane toward Gwanghwamun were controlled, resulting in severe traffic congestion.



There were some small and large quarrels between the protesters and the police, but there were no physical clashes.
