a beach in Goseong, Gangwon-do, an illegally operated apartment was booked and entered by the enforcement team through a shared accommodation app.



There are no clothes in the closet and the refrigerator is empty.

There are notices on the wall that tell you how to use a TV, tableware, and how to leave the room.



It is a lodging business for 240,000 won per night.



In another apartment nearby, there are more than 10 households suspected of illegal lodging, and vehicles with different numbers come and go on holidays and weekends.

Customers often drink and chat until late at night, so complaints are constant at the management office.

Neighbors also complain of suffering.

It is estimated that there are 2,000 apartments or officetels operating illegally through accommodation apps in Gangwon-do alone, but most of them are fined even if they are cracked down.

Imprisonment for not more than two years or a fine not exceeding 20 million won.

Since illegal accommodations do not have liability insurance, they cannot receive compensation even in the event of an accident such as fire or theft.
