Former Deputy Secretary General of the Democratic Party of Korea Lee Jung-geun, who is accused of accepting large sums of money in exchange for solicitation, has been arrested.



Judge Kim Sang-woo of the Seoul Central District Court issued an arrest warrant for Mr. Lee, saying, "There is a risk of destroying evidence and running away."



From December 2019 to January last year, Mr. Lee is accused of receiving 950 million won from businessman Park Mo on dozens of occasions in the name of arranging promotions for employees of Korea Southern Power.
