The Fair Trade Investigation Department of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Deputy Prosecutor Lee Jeong-seop), who is investigating the Samsung Group's allegation of driving a catering company, summoned Choi Ji-seong, former head of the Future Strategy Office (unprepared office) as the accused, today (27th).

Prosecutors are known to confirm the circumstances in which they unjustly supported Welstory by driving all of the in-house meals from 2013 to 8 years from 2013 against the former head of the office, Choi, who led the non-department office from 2012 to 2017.

In June of last year, the Fair Trade Commission imposed a fine of about 234.9 billion won, claiming that four companies, including Samsung Electronics, Samsung Display, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, and Samsung SDI, provided unfair support to Samsung Welstory by driving food supply from affiliates through private contracts. He filed a complaint with the prosecution against Choi and Samsung Electronics for violating the Fair Trade Act.

In addition to driving the supply by the undead office, the contract includes provisions such as 'guaranteeing food material cost margins, additional 15% of labor costs as commission fees, and automatically reflecting inflation/wage increases' in the contract to support Welstory in obtaining high profits. This was the result of the Fair Trade Commission investigation.

The Fair Trade Commission also pointed out that Welstory, which left a huge net profit in this way, distributed most of its profits to Samsung C&T, the largest shareholder of the family.

It is doubtful that Welstory played the role of 'money' for the head family.

Prosecutors took over the case and raided the Samsung Electronics headquarters in Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do and Samsung Welstory headquarters in Seongnam-si in March of this year, and summoned Myeong-soo Kim, President of Samsung C&T, and Yun-ho Choi, CEO of Samsung SDI, to confirm the decision-making process at the time.

There are observations that the investigation has entered the final stage as the prosecution summoned former chief of staff Choi, who was designated as a senior in the decision-making line.
