A man in his 30s who wielded a weapon at the victim while stalking and threatening with resentment at the notice to stop dating has been arrested and is being investigated.

The Daegu Gangbuk Police Station arrested a 30-year-old man A as a current offender on charges of stabbing a woman in her 30s several times with a knife near the Gukwoo Tunnel in Buk-gu yesterday morning.

It was investigated that Mr. A pursued the victim who left her house this morning and wielded her weapon, causing serious injuries.

The victim suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

According to the police investigation, it was revealed that Mr. A had been threatening and stalking continuously after receiving a notice from the victim to stop seeing him.

On the 25th, it was investigated that Mr. A threatened to set the victim's house on fire, and even called or visited the victim's family directly.

At that time, the police, who received the victim's report, interviewed the victim for about an hour, then warned Mr.

A police official said, "We did not agree to punish A for the stalking crime because we were concerned that the victim would be known to those around us."

Under the current law, the crime of stalking is a crime of 'anti-intentional punishment' that cannot be punished if the victim expresses his/her intention not to be punished.

The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant for A after further investigation into the motive and circumstances of the crime.
