A woman in her 30s who sprayed instant adhesive on her ex-colleague's 4-month-old daughter was sentenced to twice the sentence of the first trial at the appeals court.

The Incheon District Court overturned the lower court's sentence of 2 years and 6 months in prison to Mr. A in his 30s, who was charged with child abuse and special injury under the Child Welfare Act, and sentenced him to 5 years in prison.

In September last year, Mr. A was charged with injuring her 4-month-old colleague's daughter by spraying instant glue at her former colleague's home.

The child was unable to properly open her eyes as the glue hardened and was treated for nearly a month.

Mr. A went back to her colleague's house when her first offense went undetected, and this time she sprayed instant glue inside her child's nose, and the child was hospitalized again after her nasal mucosa was damaged.

At first, Mr. A completely denied the allegations, but later confessed that he was not feeling well when he heard from a colleague 'I often drink alcohol in the past, but what will my child see and learn in the future'.
