Those in their 60s who handed over 2.2 billion won of debt to return the Jeonse deposit to vulnerable groups such as the elderly and the disabled were handed over to trial.

Today (27th), the Busan District Prosecutor's Office's Eastern Branch Criminal Division 1 (Prosecutor Kim Byung-moon) announced that they had arrested and indicted A (63) on charges of fraud.

From March 2016 to September of the following year, Mr. A is accused of transferring the ownership of 42 old houses to 13 socially disadvantaged people, and then handed over 2.2 billion won of the debt to return the Jeonse deposit.

A's accomplices B and C bought 61 old houses in Banyeo-dong, Haeundae-gu, Busan in 2015, inflated their prices by about 2-3 times and reported the sale price, and then moved in the leased tenants.

In the process, they abused the low-income rental housing support system to receive 4 billion won by receiving 90% of the inflated sales price as a jeonse loan.

In addition, Mr. A, who took part in the crime, concealed the fact that the cheonsei real estate was set 2-3 times higher than the sale price, and among them, 42 of them were transferred back to the underprivileged, making him bear the debt to return the cheonsei deposit.

Mr. A recruited victims, saying, "A person who owns about 60 houses wants to immigrate in a hurry, but he wants to transfer the ownership of the house for free."

It turns out that most of the victims who took over the ownership without knowing that they owe a large amount of jeonse deposit were elderly or disabled and did not understand the register properly.

An official from the Eastern Branch of the Busan District Prosecutors' Office said, "Through the Crime Victim Support Center, we plan to support victims so that they can apply for legal aid."

On the other hand, accomplices B and C were previously convicted of violating the Specific Economic Crimes Punishment Act (fraud) in 2019 and are being sentenced to 6 and 4 years in prison.
