Something new is coming to TikTok!

The Chinese platform wants to allow its users to quickly give their opinion on the comments of other Internet users.

For this, it has implemented a new "dislike" button,

The latter is represented by a thumbs down and can be found directly in the comments section.

This feature was tested for several months before finally being rolled out.

According to the social network, it could make it possible to better manage the flood of comments by deleting those considered "inappropriate or irrelevant".

According to a recently published study, misinformation is indeed reaching alarming levels on the platform.

The user can reconsider his decision

How it works ?

According to our colleagues, the more thumbs down a comment receives, the more it will be hidden.

It will therefore be less prominent.

Note, however: a person who posts a comment cannot know how many times their comments have received a disapproving thumbs up.

In addition, any user can reverse their decision and remove their "dislike" at any time.

By offering this comment evaluation, TikTok joins other platforms such as YouTube or Reddit which have already implemented this function in order to sort out positive comments from insulting and irrelevant ones.

It will now be necessary to wait a few months to find out if this “I don't like” button really makes it possible to clean up the comments under the videos posted on the social network.
