Thick smoke rises around the outlet building.

At around 7:45 this morning, a fire started with an unknown cause at the Hyundai Premium Outlet in Yongsan-dong, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon.

There were no customers because it was the time before the store opened, but there were casualties of employees such as night shift workers in the disaster prevention room.

On the first basement floor, an employee in their 30s and 50s was found of cardiac arrest and taken to the hospital, but died, and two other men who appear to be employees also died.

A 40-year-old employee found in the disaster prevention room is receiving treatment at the hospital.

The initial ignition point is presumed to be the first basement floor, the loading dock where goods are unloaded.

At that time, it is taking time to search for and investigate the cause of the fire due to the smoke emitted by burning paper boxes piled up at the loading dock.

The fire department put out 357 firefighters and 49 equipment to completely extinguish the fire around 3 pm today, seven hours after the fire started.

Meanwhile, at the hotel right next to the outlet, 110 people, including guests and workers, were evacuated, and it is known that all of them were safe.

Police and fire departments will begin an investigation into the cause of the fire as soon as the search for additional missing persons is complete.
