American DART probe collided with an asteroid as part of a scientific experiment

This is reported by TASS with reference to the NASA broadcast.

It is noted that the collision took place at 19:15 US East Coast time.

The probe was launched last November from US Space Force Base Vandenberg in California.

Earlier, NASA set a new date for the launch of the Space Launch System super-heavy launch vehicle with the Orion spacecraft to the moon.
