A woman in her 30s who sprayed instant adhesive on the 4-month-old daughter of an ex-colleague was sentenced to twice the sentence of the original judge at the appeals court.

Today (26th), Incheon District Court's Criminal Affairs Division 3 (Chief Judge Han Dae-gyun) overturned the original sentence of 2 years and 6 months in prison for A (33), who was charged with child abuse and special injury under the Child Welfare Act, and sentenced to 5 years in prison. sentenced.

A is suspected of injuring the cornea by spraying instant adhesive on both eyes of B's daughter C, who is 4 months old, at the house of former co-worker B in Namdong-gu, Incheon on September 4 last year.

Mr. A took advantage of Mr. B's visit to her balcony to check her washing machine, and Ms. C was taken to the hospital emergency room, where she was treated to remove her glued eyelashes for nearly a month.

When the first crime went undetected, Mr. A went to Mr. B's house again on the 30th of the same month, saying, "I miss Miss C." And while Mr. B went to pick up the bottle, he sprayed instant glue inside her child's nose.

Miss C was hospitalized because her nasal mucosa was damaged.

Luckily she didn't have any corneal or vision damage or respiratory problems, but Ms. C has been crying when she sees strangers for a while or has an eating disorder.

When the investigation began, Mr. A completely denied the crime and sued Mr. B for defamation.

However, when questioned by the investigative agency, Mr. A confessed, "In the past, Mr. B said, 'I drink a lot of alcohol, but I did not feel good about what my child would learn from seeing."

The court of appeals explained, "I deliberately sprayed instant adhesive on both eyes of the child who was only 4 months old, and then committed the same crime again on both nostrils of the victim, so the guilt is very heavy."

He continued, "After the first offense, the accused covered up the crime, such as going to the hospital with the victim's parents." We took into account the very bad situation," he said.
