Due to the recent high prices, some universities have raised the prices of student cafeterias, so-called academics, and student complaints are continuing.
The Life Cooperatives (Cooperatives), which operates and manages the student cafeteria on the campus of Seoul National University, raised the price of school meals from 3,000 to 6,000 won in April to 4,000 to 7,000 won by 1,000 won.
He also promised to use 25% of the increase in sales to improve meal quality.
However, the students insisted that the quality of their meals worsened rather than improved, and they even formed a 'learning monitoring group' in the student council.
Regarding this, a Seoul National University official said, "Even after the increase, most menus are priced between 4,000 and 5,000 won."
He also said that the so-called 'one thousand won table' is investing more than 250 million won in subsidies every year.

Seoul National University is not the only student dissatisfied with the increase in student cafeteria prices.
Korea University and Korea University of Foreign Studies also raised the price of student cafeterias by about 500 won to 1,000 won, but critics continued to criticize that the price did not improve as well as the quality of the meals.
According to the '2022 National University Student Survey' conducted by the National University Student Association Network (Jeondae Net) from March 15 to April 30, it was identified that college students feel the greatest burden on food expenses (47%).
This is higher than tuition (27.1%) and housing (14.2%).
Jeondaenet, which held a press conference against the increase in education prices in front of the presidential office in Yongsan-gu, Seoul on the 7th, argued that "the increase in the price of education threatens the right to eat for college students." I did.
