It was belatedly known that a man who tried to strangle his wife during a marital fight and tried to kill him was arrested and arrested two hours after escaping after pushing a police officer on the run.

The Yongin Western Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced that they had arrested a man A (in his 30s) on charges of attempted murder and sent him to the Suwon District Prosecutor's Office today.

Mr. A is accused of trying to kill his wife, Mr. B (in his 30s), by strangling them with fists, etc., at his house around 11 am on the 17th.

The police received a 112 call from Mr. B around 11 am that day.

The police decided that a couple quarrel occurred when the phone was cut off after a man and woman were arguing over the phone call that lasted 10 to 20 seconds, and ordered to be dispatched.

Earlier, at around 0 am on the day of the incident, Mr. A and Mr. B each reported domestic violence, and at that time, the police took emergency and temporary measures such as prohibiting access to Mr. B within 100 meters and limiting contact.

Afterwards, the police called to check the safety of Mr. B around 9 am, and Mr. B is known to have replied, "There is no problem."

The case seemed to end like this, but two hours later, a second call came from Mr. B.

The police arrived at the scene within 8 minutes of receiving the report, but there was no sign of knocking on the door, and after 30 minutes of searching around, it was determined that no dangerous situation had occurred and returned without taking any action.

However, after the report, the location of Mr. B's cell phone continued to appear around Mr. A's house, so the police officers were called again.

After the police knocked on the door several times, Mr. A opened the door, and when the police asked about the contents of the report, Mr. A was gibberish.

Afterwards, when the police tried to forcefully enter to inspect the inside, Mr. A pushed the policeman and ran away.

The police immediately wanted Mr. A's vehicle and started tracking him, and caught Mr. A on the Seoul Ring Expressway after about 2 hours of escaping.

On the other hand, in the house, Mr. B was found unconscious and collapsed and was immediately taken to the hospital, but it is said that his consciousness is not clear until four days after the incident.

While the police arrested and sent Mr. A, it is pointed out that the initial response was insufficient, such as the fact that the police officers who received the second report on the day of the incident returned without checking the status of the reporter.

A police official said, "The police officers on the scene had no basis to judge that there was an imminent danger, so they could not forcefully open the door. As much as possible, we will come up with an improvement plan to enhance the judgment capacity of the dispatched police officers.”

It is known that Mr. A admitted to the charges by the police.
