'It is true that I entrusted my money and account to someone else for a while, but I didn't know that my account was being used to manipulate stock prices.'

Regarding the allegations of involvement in Deutsche Motors stock manipulation, Mrs. Kim Kun-hee is making this statement.

So, the core of the suspicion is 'Did Kim Kun-hee really not know that stock price manipulation was taking place?'

Why does this question arise?

Looking at the reasons, we come to the fact that the allegations raised now against Mrs. Kim Kun-hee are surprisingly similar to the allegations raised by former professor Jeong Kyung-shim in the past.

Let me explain in an easy to understand way the complicated and difficult Deutsche Motors shares of Mrs. Kim Kun-hee.

Deutsche Motors stock price manipulation allegations?

There is a company called Deutsche Motors that sells vehicles such as BMW and Mini in Korea.

It is a KOSDAQ listed company.

In December of last year, the prosecution handed over the company's CEO, Chairman Oh-su Kwon, and Mr. Lee, a so-called 'player', who was accused of manipulating stock prices at the request of Chairman Kwon, to trial for stock price manipulation.

So far, there is nothing special about the stock price manipulation case.

But there is something very special about this case.

It is the suspicion that the president's wife, Kim Kun-hee, was involved in the manipulation of the company's stock price.

What the heck did Mrs. Kun-hee Kim do to raise the suspicion that she conspired to manipulate the stock price?

'Jeonju' Kim Gun-hee?

Kim Gun-hee's role in the Deutsche Motors stock price manipulation allegation can be seen as a kind of 'jeonju'.

'Jeonju', also known as 'Jeonju', means "a person who provides the foundation for business."

To artificially raise the stock price, you need funds to buy stocks in large quantities, and the person who lends this money is usually called 'Jeonju'.

However, not all 'Jeonjus' who provide funds related to stock price manipulation are punished.

Whether 'Jeonju' knew that money was used to manipulate stock prices is an important criterion for determining whether it is a crime or not.

In fact, it makes sense when you think about it.

A person who lends money knowing that it is a normal investment without knowing that it is a stock price manipulation should not be punished for conspiracy to manipulate the stock price.

Kun-hee Kim, "I didn't know"

By the way, this is precisely the explanation of Mrs. Kun-hee Kim on the suspicion of involvement in Deutsche Motors stock manipulation.

As a result, it is true that I acted as a 'jeonju', but I did not know that my money and account were being used to manipulate the stock price.

In October of last year, I made this claim while disclosing the account details of Mrs. Kun-hee Kim at the presidential campaign of the then presidential candidate Yoon Seok-yeol, but I only entrusted Mr. Lee, who was introduced as an investment expert, to manage and invest in a stock account from January to May 2010, I later found out that the stock transactions that Mr. Lee made using the account of Mrs. Kim Kun-hee at this time were viewed by the prosecution as an attempt to manipulate the stock price.”

[President Seok-Yeol Yoon (October 15, 2021, during the People's Power Presidential Candidate Primary Debate): (Mr. Lee Mo, a stock price manipulator) What is it that this gentleman is from Goldman Sachs?

It'll be fine if I leave this gentleman to take care of it, don't we do that a lot?

Being from Goldman Sachs has talent...

.

But (from January 2010), I left it for about four months and there was a loss. I was insulated.]

So, it is not really an issue whether or not there was a transaction suspected of stock price manipulation in the name of Mrs. Kim Gun-hee.

That there was such a deal, even Ms. Kim Gun-hee actually admits it.

Her issue is whether or not she knew, then, in 2010, that Mrs. Kun-hee Kim, her own money and account that the stock was being used for her alleged manipulation of the stock.

Is it similar to the Jung Kyung-shim case?

Then, the contents of the suspicion of Kim Gun-hee's involvement in Deutsche Motors stock manipulation can be summarized as follows.

Did Mrs. Kim Gun-hee / knowing that an attempt to manipulate the stock price was going on, / but entrusted her money and stock account / to a person named Mo, who was trying to manipulate the stock price?

This is the key.

If so, is it fair to raise suspicions about Kim Gun-hee, saying, 'Maybe she knew'?

You can judge this by comparing it with the reason for the suspicion in other cases that are very similar in composition to this case.

It is the suspicion of former professor Jeong Kyung-shim, wife of former Justice Minister Cho Kuk.

Regarding former Professor Kyung-shim Jeong, a number of allegations were raised during the hearing of former Justice Minister Cho Kuk in 2019, one of which was the suspicion that he was involved in stock price manipulation by Corlink PE, a private equity fund manager.

The Jung Kyung-shim case-Kim Geon-hee case, three similarities

On what basis were these allegations raised?

First, there was a circumstance where former professor Kyung-shim Jeong played the role of 'Jeonju' for Kolink PE, which attempted to manipulate the stock price.

A person named Beom-Dong Cho created a private equity fund called KOLINK PE and led the stock price manipulation. I invested a huge amount because this money was eventually used to manipulate the stock price.

Second, there is a special relationship between the main culprit of stock price manipulation and former professor Kyung-shim Jeong.

Several circumstances have been revealed that Cho Beom-dong of Corlink PE, who led the stock price manipulation, was the fifth-degree nephew of former Minister Cho Kuk, and former professor Kyung-shim Jeong and Mr.

Third, the relationship between the company subject to stock price manipulation and former professor Kyung-shim Jeong.

The company that Colink PE Jo Beom-dong tried to manipulate the stock price after gaining management rights is WFM. One fact was revealed.

In summary, the fact that it served as the 'Jeonju' that supplied the funds mobilized for the stock price manipulation, the special relationship with the main culprit, and the relationship between the company and the former professor Kyung-Shim Jung. It was the main basis for the suspicion of the professor's involvement in stock manipulation.

The funds mobilized for the stock price manipulation came from former Professor Kyung-Shim Jeong, who was very close to the person who manipulated the stock price, and even received money from the company that was the subject of the stock price manipulation. Suspicion arose that he was conspiring with the knowledge of

Of course, despite this circumstance, the prosecution did a very thorough investigation, but was unable to prosecute former professor Kyung-shim Jeong for involvement in stock price manipulation.

There were only some suspicious circumstances, because there was no evidence that Professor Jung knew about the stock price manipulation and conspired.

The problem is that the circumstances that were interpreted as the basis for the suspicion of former professor Jeong Kyung-shim's involvement in stock price manipulation are found in almost the same form in the allegations related to Mrs. Kim Kun-hee.

First, as I said before, the funds of Mrs. Kim Gun-hee were mobilized for suspicious stock price manipulation, so it can be said that it acted as a kind of 'prejug'.

Second, Deutsche Motors Chairman Kwon Oh-soo and Mrs. Kim Kun-hee, who were charged with the main culprit of stock price manipulation, were very close for business reasons.

Even though Chairman Kwon is on trial for manipulating stock prices, there have been reports that his son was even invited to the inauguration ceremony of President Yoon Seok-yeol.

Third, it became known that Kim Kun-hee served as a non-executive director at Deutsche Motors, the subject of stock price manipulation.

Like Professor Kyung-Shim Jeong, there was a time when I personally bought and sold the stock of Deutsche Motors, a company that was subject to stock price manipulation.

The role of Jeon Joo, the special relationship with the person accused of stock price manipulation, and the relationship between the company subject to stock price manipulation and Mrs. Kim Kun-hee were similar to the situation when former professor Jeong Kyung-shim was suspected of being involved in stock price manipulation.

In other words, regardless of whether he was later prosecuted or convicted, in the circumstances at the time, if it can be seen that raising the allegation of involvement in stock price manipulation with former professor Jeong Kyung-shim was within the scope of a reasonable suspicion, it could be said about Mrs. It can be seen that it is within a reasonable range to raise the suspicion of whether you knew

Why is the prosecution investigation?

The problem is with the prosecution.

As mentioned earlier, the revelation of these circumstances does not immediately prove that the stock price manipulation conspiracy is true.

In the case of former professor Jeong Kyung-shim, the prosecution thoroughly investigated the case, but ultimately failed to prosecute the allegation of conspiracy to manipulate stock prices.

Likewise, it is impossible to assert that Kim Gun-hee's allegations of her involvement in manipulation are true based on circumstance alone.

However, it is questionable whether the prosecution is investigating Kim Gun-hee as strictly as it did with former professor Jeong Kyung-shim.

It has been more than two years since the investigation began in earnest, and Deutsche Motors Chairman Kwon Oh-soo, who is accused of being the main culprit, and “player” Lee, who is accused of using the account of Mrs. This is because there is still no news that the prosecution has summoned Mrs. Kim Kun-hee to investigate.

Even if the investigation was stopped because of the election just before the election, it is difficult to understand that it has been over six months since the election and there is still no news.

In addition, in the trial process against Chairman Kwon Oh-soo, etc., which is already underway, it was reported that Mrs. Kim Gun-hee executed the transaction directly, not Mr. Lee, who was in charge of account management on January 12, 2010, the date when the suspected stock price manipulation using the account of Mrs. Kim Gun-hee started. There were also transcripts and testimonies showing the circumstances.

It is a circumstance that can be inconsistent with the explanation of Mrs. Kim Gun-hee to the effect that she did not know what kind of transaction was made just by leaving her with Mr. Lee.

Of course, on January 12, when we were just starting our relationship with Mr. Lee, it could be that Kim Geon-hee made a deal under Mr. Lee's instructions, and it cannot be concluded that she was aware of the stock price manipulation. Prosecutors, who need to confirm the reality, have yet to see the face of Mrs. Kim Gun-hee.

Prosecutors' 'debt'

Let me ask you this question.

Is it good for the prosecutor's office to have a former prosecutor general immediately become a presidential candidate and then become president?

For some prosecutors close to President Yoon Seok-yeol, it could be a good thing personally.

However, it is inevitably a great burden for the entire institution of the prosecution.

From the beginning, the prosecution had been criticized for being difficult to be strict with the 'living power' with personnel rights, but now the living power itself is made up of people who lived and worked together at the same workplace just a year or two ago, so it is important to consider the political neutrality of the prosecution investigation. This is because the suspicion and surveillance gaze will inevitably sting even more.

It can be seen as a debt inherited by the prosecutor's office after the election of President Yoon Seok-yeol.

The more that happens, the more strictly and thoroughly the prosecution will need to investigate the living powers than in the past.

We need to look at whether the investigation currently underway by the prosecution on the suspicions related to Mrs.

If we do not give the public confidence that they handle matters related to the former prosecutor-general president in a strict manner, the opportunity for the prosecution to gain the public's trust may never come.
