A man in his 30s who was caught at the scene had previously been charged with stalking the victim, and is awaiting sentencing today.

Police believe that the assailant committed the crime deliberately after waiting inside the station.

Soon after, an ambulance carrying the victim passed quickly.



Last night around 9 o'clock, a 31-year-old man wielded a weapon at a station worker A in his 20s who was working at Sindang Station on the Seoul subway.



After waiting for over an hour in the station, Jeon followed Mr. A into the bathroom and committed the crime.



Person A, who was stabbed with a knife, pressed the emergency bell in the bathroom, and station staff and citizens caught Jeon at the scene.

Mr. A, who was transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest, died after two and a half hours.



Jeon was a colleague who joined the Seoul Transportation Corporation with Mr. A.



In October of last year, Jeon was sued once for intimidating A and forcing him to meet, saying that he would distribute illegally filmed videos.



The two cases were merged and the sentencing trial was scheduled to be held today, but the crime was committed the day before.



The police believe that Jeon committed the crime deliberately and harbored a grudge against Mr. A, who sued him.



It was confirmed that he purchased a weapon, a tool for the crime, in advance, and even wore a sanitary cap at the time of the crime.



Police who have applied for an arrest warrant for murder will also apply the Specific Crime Aggravated Punishment Act if retaliatory crimes are proven.
