Today, on the first day of the Chuseok holiday, the highway congestion on the road started at around 3 am, earlier than usual.



Since dawn, vehicles on the way home have been congested, causing congestion on major highways.



If you leave Seoul now, it is expected that it will take 8 hours and a half to Busan, 7 hours 20 minutes to Gwangju, 7 hours 40 minutes to Mokpo, and 5 hours 50 minutes to Gangneung.



The Korea Expressway Corporation predicted that major highway congestion from Seoul to rural areas would be worst between 11am and 12pm.

The road flow near the Hongseong Service Area in the direction of Mokpo on the Seohaean Expressway is also in a frustrating situation.



At the Majang junction in the Nami direction of the Jungbu Expressway, a vehicle is walking with a turtle.



The expected nationwide traffic today is 5.18 million, an increase of 700,000 from last year.



The Road Corporation analyzed that it is the first holiday after social distancing has been lifted, and that the number of vehicles returning home has increased as the national highway tolls are exempted for three days from 00:00 today.



It is predicted that the vehicles returning to Gyeonggi will start to flow from tomorrow, the day of Chuseok, and reach a peak on the 11th, the next day.
