Two of the missing residents were miraculously rescued while trying to get a car out of an underground parking lot flooded by a typhoon.

Unfortunately, 7 people died.

Yesterday (6th), this catastrophe occurred in an apartment underground parking lot in Nam-gu, Pohang-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and it is believed to be the cause of the instantaneous rainwater flooding the cold spring right next to it due to heavy rain.

It was found that the time to fully submerge the end of the underground parking lot aisle was only 8 minutes.

The management office, who advised to move the vehicle to the ground for fear of flooding, was unexpectedly unexpected.

The fire department carried out drainage and search operations from morning to late at night with the Marine Corps special reconnaissance team.

The first survivor was rescued 13 hours after the disappearance was reported.

Fortunately, a 39-year-old male, who was found without any major health problems, was known to have survived in a space presumed to be an air pocket while holding the sewage pipe.

Person A swam to the entrance and walked out directly to the hospital.

According to Mr. A's wife, he said, "There were times when I wanted to give up, but because of his children, I couldn't give up," he said at the time of isolation.

14 hours later, the second survivor, 52-year-old woman B, was also rescued.

B was found lying on his stomach in a space about 30 cm wide above the pipe at the top of the parking lot.

She complained of hypothermia because she had been submerged for a long time, but she was in good health.

However, in addition to the two survivors, seven other residents were rescued from cardiac arrest and died.

About 47,000 tons of water filled the underground parking lot that day.

The fire department is said to have drained more than 80% of the water from the 4 meter high ceiling using heavy equipment such as large-capacity tarpaulins.

In the parking lot, there are about 1 meter thick mud and 120 vehicles, so we are focusing our efforts on the final additional search in difficult search conditions.

The rescue scene of the two survivors in the Pohang underground parking lot was captured in a video.
