The 11th typhoon Hinnamno is heading north.

Let's take a look at the situation by connecting to Seogwipo, Jeju, where the power of this typhoon will be hit first in Korea.

Reporter Sangmin Kim, how is the situation in Jeju when a typhoon is approaching?

In Jeju, the weather changes frequently, with the rain falling and then the sun suddenly shining.

A heavy rain warning went into effect in the western part of Jeju a while ago, but dark clouds are now forming in the sky over the Seogwipo region.

We'll have to wait and see if it rains again.

The typhoon is expected to affect all of Jeju in earnest from tomorrow (5th).

The Korea Meteorological Administration is currently predicting that Hinnamno will come closest to Seogwipo, Jeju, at the level of 'very river' around 2 a.m. the next day.

In low-lying areas like Beophwan Port here, the biggest concern is how far high waves will hit.

If you look at the tide in Seogwipo the next day, the water recedes the most at 0:50 am and peaks at 5:20 am. As the closest time to the typhoon, when the waves are highest, is expected to be 2 am the day after tomorrow, this is the worst time that overlaps with the high tide when the sea level is the highest. situation seems to be avoided.

However, as there is a prediction that the power of this typhoon could be stronger than that of Cicada in 2003, the tension cannot be relaxed.

About 1,900 ships from Jeju City finished evacuation early to a port as large as Seogwipo Port.

After the ferry to Mokpo left at 10 a.m. today, passenger ships to and from Jeju and other regions were also completely suspended.

If the typhoon becomes full-fledged, flight defects are expected to continue. The Jeju Provincial Office has an emergency transportation plan that adds chartered buses and taxis for passengers stranded at the airport.

For two days from tomorrow, more than 70% of schools in Jeju will enter remote classes and, with the exception of a very small number of regular classes, most of the classes will be shortened or closed altogether.
