The 61st Caravan Salon will be celebrated in Düsseldorf until Sunday.

It's the largest fair of its kind, and it's never been bigger.

A good 700 exhibitors from 34 countries are showing their products in 16 halls, everything is there, from the awning to the luxury mobile home with a garage for the small roadster.

There will probably be a record number of visitors at the end of the fair, and one wonders these days why this salon is working so well, while the Geneva Motor Show was recently canceled again and is probably over for good.

Well, on the one hand it is the courageous people at Messe Düsseldorf who managed to get the salon going even during the pandemic years, on the other hand the caravanning industry works completely differently than the car industry.

And sales have not grown in 136 years, after all, car dealerships are part of the cityscape.

After all, you live in it during the loveliest weeks of the year, and you want to see and touch it.

Düsseldorf offers the best stage for this, and this year all the important manufacturers are represented again.

For anyone who is seriously considering making a purchase, the trip to the Rhine is well worth it.

But the sectors are similar in one respect: the delivery problem affects both.

If you want to realize your dream of a mobile house now, you may have to wait a year for it.

And something else speaks for the Düsseldorf Salon.

The pricing is moderate.

The pleasure of getting a complete overview of the industry costs 16 euros.

In addition to what can be expected, i.e. mobile homes and caravans, it is also about vehicle technology, components and attachments, tents, mobile homes, of course accessories for camping, but also outdoor clothing and equipment.

In addition, tourist regions and camping and parking spaces advertise for visitors.

There should be something for every caravanning friend.

The motto of the 2022 Salon is: "Passion that connects."

The visitors, last year 190,000 came over the ten days, the record is 270,000 in the Corona previous year 2019, will see many completely new products, such as the Bürstner Lyseo Gallery with its inflatable alcove.

Hymer brings the production version of the 2019 Vision Venture concept, an impressive two-person camper with many new ideas.

Compact camper vans remain in demand.

Fiat is about to lose its supremacy as a supplier of the base vehicle (Ducato) due to production problems, Ford with its Transit, but Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen are also stepping into the breach.
