Kookmin University Alumni Emergency Response Committee (non-captain) held a propaganda campaign to verify Kim Kun-hee's thesis and argued that the Kookmin University Research Ethics Committee's research on Kim's thesis was invalid.
Today (2nd) around 8:00 am, the alumni non-captain held a placard in front of the main gate of Kookmin University that read 'The school's final decision was invalid' and condemned the school's decision not to verify Mrs. Kim's doctoral thesis.
In a statement distributed by the alumni non-captain, he said, "The alma mater is facing the biggest crisis since its founding."
He also added that the school's explanation that Kim's dissertation is plagiarism beyond what is acceptable in the academic field and that the standards at the time of writing her thesis differ from the current standards of research ethics is also unreasonable.
The general vote held by the Kookmin University Faculty Association on August 16 to ask professors whether to re-examine their thesis was rejected, and it was evaluated that 'social trust has been lost'.
The alumni captain demanded that the foundation directly resolve the situation and explained that 'Mrs. Kim's thesis will be verified'.
