The possibility of a super strong typhoon 'Hinnamno' heading north to Korea is increasing.

It is also bigger than yesterday (31st), and it is expected to come up in a similar path to Typhoon Chaba, which caused great damage to the southern region in 2016.

Even if you avoid our country, you need to be prepared as more than 500mm of rain can pour on the south and east coasts next week.

The detailed typhoon situation, reporter Jung Gu-hee, will be delivered.

Yesterday, it was a 'small' typhoon with a radius of 230 km, but today it has increased to 300 km and has become a 'medium' typhoon.

It grew in size by absorbing the tropical cyclone No. 23, a tropical vortex just before Hinnamno became a typhoon in eastern Taiwan.

Already at the center of the typhoon, strong winds of 55 m/s and 198 km/h are blowing, making it a 'super-strong' typhoon, which is the highest grade in terms of intensity.

Because the power of typhoons is strong, the water vapor that typhoons push up is already creating rain clouds on the Korean Peninsula.

As a result of this influence, up to 300mm of rain fell on Jeju Island until the day after tomorrow, and rain was forecast for the Jeollanam-do and Gyeongnam coasts, as well as the southern and eastern coasts.

Hinnamno moves north in earnest from the day after day.

Until now, typhoons have not been able to rise north because of a huge wall called the North Pacific High Pressure, but have continued to move west.

The typhoon will remain in the waters of Taiwan tomorrow, moving slowly at a speed of 4 km/h, which is slower than humans.

However, from Saturday, a typhoon will rise toward Korea along the edge of this North Pacific high pressure.

As it ascends, it encounters a strong westerly wind called a jet stream, which sharply bends to the east and speeds up rapidly.

Since the timing of turning north and to the right is still uncertain, various predictions are coming out for the route.

The Korea Meteorological Administration currently expects the typhoon to penetrate Jeju Island on Monday, the 5th, and penetrate the Korea Strait on Tuesday, the 6th.

If predicted, the path is similar to that of Typhoon Chaba in 2016.

Chaba, which was still an autumn typhoon, passed through the eastern part of Jeju Island and passed through Busan, causing great damage to Yeongnam and Jeju.

The Taehwa River overflowed and cars were submerged as it rained 664 mm and 374 mm in Ulsan on Witse Oreum in Jeju Island.

A strong wind of 203 km/h in Jeju Island and 134 km in Busan blew, and a wave the size of a house hit the coastal road and even the road between buildings was submerged in seawater.

The exact route of Hinnamno has not been released yet, but the radius of the typhoon is so wide that the Korea Meteorological Administration predicted that heavy rain and strong winds of more than 500mm could hit Jeju Island and coastal areas between the 5th and 7th.
