Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters has decided to abolish the pre-entry corona test, which was required for inbound travelers from abroad.

It will be implemented from 00:00 on the 3rd, and the duty of pre-entry inspections for those arriving by plane or ship will disappear.

This reflects criticisms about the cost burden and effectiveness of overseas inspections.

It applies to all domestic and foreign nationals regardless of their vaccination history, and pre-entry inspections are abolished regardless of country.

However, the PCR test duty within 24 hours after entry remains the same.

Advance reservations for Skycobi One, the first domestic vaccine developed by SK Bioscience, will start tomorrow (the 1st).

Same-day vaccinations are available starting next week.

The quarantine authorities said that the Skycobione vaccine had a neutralizing antibody value 2.9 times higher than that of the existing vaccine, and that most of the adverse reactions were minimal.

An improved vaccine to counter the Omicron mutation is scheduled to be introduced in the fourth quarter of this year.

The high-risk group will be vaccinated first, but adults over the age of 18 who have completed at least the second dose will also be vaccinated.

Ahead of the Chuseok holiday, quarantine and medical measures were announced.

Contact visits are prohibited at nursing hospitals and facilities, so only non-contact visits are possible.

Temporary screening test stations have been installed at 9 rest stops on the highway, so anyone can get a free PCR test during the Chuseok holiday.
