A 40-year-old man convicted of throwing a soju bottle at former President Park Geun-hye was sentenced to one year in prison.

The Daegu District Court's Western Branch Criminal Division 1 (Chief Judge Lim Dong-han) sentenced Lee (47), who was arrested and charged with throwing a bottle of soju (attempted special injury) at former President Park giving a greeting to the public today (18th). sentenced to 1 year.

The court also ordered the confiscation of the cutter knife, scissors and hacksaw used by the accused.

Mr. Lee arrived at his residence in Yuga-eup, Dalseong-gun, Daegu on March 24 and threw a bottle of soju toward former President Park, who was greeting him.

At the time of the crime, a bottle of soju fell about 3 meters in front of former President Park.

Debris bounced up to a meter in front of him, but no one was injured.

It was investigated that he prepared a hacksaw, a cutter knife and scissors to break the cable connected to the iron fence installed for security, as well as a bottle of soju to throw at former President Park.

He was caught at the scene and said that he committed the crime because former President Park did not apologize for the Inhyukdang incident, but it turned out that he had nothing to do with the victims of the Inhyukdang incident.

The court said, "If we take into account various circumstances, such as admitting to the crime by ourselves during the investigation stage, such as the police and prosecutors immediately after being arrested, the crime of trying to injure former President Park using a dangerous object is fully recognized." It seems that he was not forgiven by the government and did not make any effort to recover the damage.”

Earlier, the prosecution demanded a three-year prison sentence for Lee, saying, "The defendant reversed the statement and the assertion was not credible and did not reflect."
