A city councilor in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province, was caught by the police for violating self-quarantine duty even though he was diagnosed with Corona 19 and went out to sea fishing.



According to the Buan Maritime Police Station on the 18th, the Jeonju Health Center recently filed a complaint with the police against a member of the Jeonju City Council for violating the Corona 19 quarantine obligation.



Assemblyman A collided with a fishing boat while fishing alone in his leisure boat in the waters near Wido, Buan-gun, Jeollabuk-do, around 12:45 pm on the 27th of last month.



The Coast Guard, who was dispatched after receiving the report, confirmed that Representative A was confirmed to be Corona 19 while investigating the circumstances of the accident.



The Wido Health Center forwarded the fact to the Jeonju City Health Center, and the health center filed a complaint against Representative A to the police.



Assemblyman A said, "I went out on the last day of quarantine because I was frustrated and wanted to catch the wind. I am deeply reflecting on my inappropriate behavior as a public figure.



Currently, COVID-19 confirmed patients must be hospitalized or self-isolated for 7 days.

Violation of this can result in imprisonment for up to one year or a fine of up to 10 million won in accordance with Article 79 3 of the 'Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act'.
