Police arrested two middle school students who assaulted and extorted cash at a convenience store in the early evening.



The Incheon Michuhol Police Station announced yesterday (16th) that they are investigating and arresting two middle school students, including A (14), on charges of special robbery.



According to the police, Army A and others lured female clerk B in her 20s out of the counter at a convenience store in Michuhol-gu, Incheon around 5:55 pm that day, pretending to ask for the location of a specific product.



They then strangled Mr. B with their hands to subdue him and stole about 200,000 won in cash from the counter.



Among the two students, group A was caught by a citizen who witnessed the crime inside a convenience store.

Another middle school student fled immediately after the crime, but was arrested in about 30 minutes after being pursued by the police who arrived after receiving the report.



It is known that Army A and others made a statement in the police investigation to the effect that "they did not have pocket money."

A police official said, "The group of Army A are sophomores in middle school who attend different schools.



As soon as the investigation is complete, the police plan to put A and others in a detention center and decide whether to apply for an arrest warrant through additional investigation.



Special robbery is a crime that occurs when it is recognized that a group of two or more people share in the process of extorting another person's property or acquiring other property benefits.

The level of punishment is higher than that of general robbery, and habitual offenders can be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison or up to life imprisonment.
