“Memory capacity” is a competitive trend that changes the patterns of smart phone markets
The RAM memory currently amounts to 6, 8 and 12 gigabytes.
Experts and officials said that the markets have recently witnessed competitive manifestations among companies in the field of storage capacities in phones or even random access memory, which has led to a change in the patterns of smart phone markets, and the disappearance and scarcity of phones with low capacities.
In turn, the technical expert and general manager of "Task" for technical products, Ashraf Fawakherji, said that "the recent period witnessed competition among companies in offering expanded capacities for memory," noting that the shift appeared clearly through the transformation of memory (RAM) from categories (4 or 2 gigagrams) previously, to reach now (6, 8 and 12 gigagrams).
He added that "the transformation also included the fixed storage memory used to store data and information, which in previous periods ranged in common between 16, 32 and 64 gigabytes, to reach now to 128, 256 and 512 gigabytes, and even reached (tera) capacities in some types of phones."
And the technology expert, Arjun Batra, considered that “the shift in memory capacities came significantly after the repercussions of the (Covid-19) pandemic, which supported the shift in relying on phones more in conducting many services and applications, and using games that in turn call for an increase in memory capacities. randomness or storage capacity.
He added that "the common storage capacities currently ranged between 128 and 256 GB, compared to previous periods, which ranged between 16, 32 and 64 GB only, while the random access memory ranged between (8 and 12 GB), compared to previous periods that ranged between 4 and 6 GB." .
Lucy Aziz, the Regional Director of Relations and Communications at the OPPO Technology Company, indicated that “technology companies that produce smart phones have expanded the introduction of random access memory technologies, or even high-capacity storage memory in phones, during the recent period, to meet the needs of customers about these technologies. Today, smartphones are indispensable in our lives, which have become based on continuous communication, as we use them in everything from communications and photography to games, social media, surfing the Internet and conducting many services.”
