It was confirmed today (12th) that the Board of Audit and Inspection, which is conducting a special audit by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, is also looking into the process of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission's authoritative interpretation in relation to the cases of former Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae and former Justice Minister Cho Kuk.

In September 2020, the ACRC made an authoritative interpretation that it was difficult to see the investigation into a conflict of interest between the duties of then Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae and the prosecution's suspicions of special treatment for Choo's son.

Earlier, in September 2019, it was interpreted that there was a possibility of a conflict of interest related to the situation in which Dongyang University professor Jeong Kyung Shim, the wife of the then Justice Minister at the time of Cho Kuk, was under investigation by the prosecution, but did not judge all of her job relevance requirements.

It is reported that the Board of Audit and Inspection believes that Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commissioner Jeon Hyeon-hee distorted the interpretation of the rights of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission at the time.

Director-General Yoo Byung-ho of the Board of Audit and Inspection, who is leading the audit, said in a report on the National Assembly on the 29th of last month that he had been informed of "content that cannot be overlooked."

Initially, the audit was said to have focused on the time and attendance issue of the former chairman and employees, but it is said that the analysis of the rights corresponding to the duties of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission is also included in the audit, and it is said to be conducted with high intensity.

The former chairman, who insisted that the audit was pressuring the chairman to resign, criticized on Facebook, saying, "The audit committee was trying to find a way to mislead the anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commissioner and press him to resign, revealing the bare face mobilized for the audit without proper preparation."

Chairman Jeon said, "There was no problem with the interpretation of the rights at the time," he said.
